Made with Quarter sawn white oak. This sphere has a black dye stain applied and then it is wiped down with alcohol. This process removes the stain from the less pourous parts of the quarter grain. This sphere doesn't really photograph well, but under direct light will the underlying woodtones really stand out.  Has a 2" aluminum rimmed hole.   3/16" aluminum pins mark the intersecting point of the hexagons and pentagons.
